An academic exchange meeting between Kunming Children's Hospital and Mayo Clinic was held as scheduled in Kunming Children's Hospital on nov 13, 2018.Mayo clinic' Men Shaohua, Yves Ouellette, Nancy Henry, Heather Ouellette, Megan Thorvilson, Ma Tao(director of Kunming Health and Family Planning Commission), Wang kui(researcher of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation department of Yunnan Provincial Health commission),Han Yuewei(general manager of CR healthcare, Zhang Tiesong(director of Kunming Children's Hospital) and pediatric colleagues from all over the world,which are more than 100 people attended the meeting.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Yang Jiayi(the Party Committee of Kunming Children's Hospital). Zhang Tiesong, Men Shaohua and Han Yuewei delivered speeches respectively.
The academic exchange meeting held by the hospital and Mayo clinic has set up a learning platform of the latest theoretical knowledge of pediatrics. Four professors of Mayo Clinic, Tian Xin and He Canlin of Kunming Children's Hospital introduced latest progress of theoretical knowledge in pediatrics in field of chronic bronchial dysplasia' treatment antibiotic resistance and rational application, operating room patient data' visualization, palliative care for pediatric patients, the project of helping shangri-la in neonatology' achievements and Yunnan Children's Leukemia Treatment Center' construction achievements. The meeting was packed and the atmosphere was very warm. The doctors and scholars who participated in the meeting asked questions and interacted with the experts frequently, which inspired new ideas and caused heated discussions and good response. In this academic feast, the experts answered questions, and made the doctors understand the international advanced medical research results and gained more experience and understanding.
At the end of the meeting, Zhang Tiesong made a concluding speech on the meeting. He first congratulated the success of the meeting. The meeting provided a platform for practical learning and communication for more than 100 pediatric colleagues from Yunnan Province. They gained experience and improved friendship. He hoped the hospital would have more, deeper communication and learning with Mayo Clinic in the future. At the same time, he believed that under the support of Yunnan Provincial Health Commission, Kunming Municipal Health Planning Commission and CR Healthcare, with the help of all walks of life and the joint efforts of the staff of the hospital, the hospital will continue to open up a new situation of foreign cooperation in the cause of children's health.
