On January 17, 2017, Kunming Children's Hospital received the formal report from Chicago headquarters of Joint Commission International (JCI) stating that Kunming Children's Hospital has been accredited to be the first public Grade III, Class A hospital in Southwest China, after a 5-day formal assessment of international JCI from January 9 to 13, 2017. During the assessment, JCI assessment panel carried out a strict and detailed appraisal on more than 1,200 items of the hospital including medical care, medicines, nursing, equipment, information, human resources, logistics, security guards, infection control management, medical records filing, on-site fire protection, strong and weak electrical lines and facilities, high-risk material management and security access control. The hospital received unanimous praise from JCI assessment panel for the appraisal results of all the links.
Kunming Children's Hospital strives to pass the JCI accreditation not only for improving its service quality, but also for ensuring patients’ safety and health.
