During July and August of 2016, CR Healthcare recruited the work safety inspection team with deputy general manager in charge of work safety as team lead and deputy deans, department heads and professionals responsible for environment, health and safety (EHS) at member hospitals as team members. Themed on “Guarding Our Life”, the team carried out a large-scaled work safety inspection to member hospitals including Huaibei Miner General Hospital, Xuzhou Mine Hospital, Kunming Children’s Hospital, Guangdong 999 Brain Hospital, China Resources & WISCO General Hospital, and 999 Medical Clinic (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. Following the principle that “environment, health and safety bear the paramount importance”, this inspection was intended to have member hospitals learn from each other, seek for green, safe, harmonious development together, and strive to improve EHS professional’s competence as a part of CR Resources’ pursuit for enhanced EHS management capacity.

The inspection exposed a total of 68 hidden dangers in all sorts and management flaws from member hospitals’ EHS work, made member hospitals awake to the hazards brought by these hidden dangers, and drove them to make immediate rectifications or get prepared to do so vigorously. While screening hidden dangers, the inspection team also found that member hospitals had progressed in EHS management capacity to varying extents. Coupled with JCI standards and trimethyl self-assessment, member hospitals saw their EHS basic standards improved comprehensively. JCI accreditation and trimethyl self-assessment had been combined with the EHS management, integrated with every department and post of member hospitals. From institutional standards to safety work in details, all staff members demonstrated the prominently enhanced awareness of EHS management and member hospitals made great strides in visualized security management. A variety of precautions, identification of danger sources, and management of hazardous chemicals gradually got on the right track and tied closely with the management of business lines.

Through this work safety inspection, CR Healthcare and its member units managed to pay more attention to work details, introduce standards, identify hidden danger, learn from each other, lift the EHS management to a higher level, and guard the life safety and health with joint efforts.
