JCI accreditation is a certification apparatus through which the JCAHO (Joint Commission Accreditation of Health Organization) has designed to help the most excellent hospitals from different countries of the world get included in the international quality appraisal and insurance system. It is considered as the universally accepted gold standard for healthcare quality management and patient safety. As an international training platform, the China Resources-JCI Hospital Management Institute is dedicated to introducing the most orthodox and influential training courses and publications from JCI to the Chinese medical institutions, based on the advanced knowledge system developing the theories and tools fit for the local healthcare quality and security management, promoting the best practice for a broader range of application, and lifting the Chinese hospitals’ operating and management capacity to a higher level.
Thanks to this partnership, CR Healthcare will capitalize on its abundant resources in hospital management and JCI trainings. With the group-wide integrated services, it is intended to fuel Xiamen’s drive in building hospitals up to international standards. Besides, it would like to comprehensively enhance the medical technologies, quality and security management and medical services of the hospitals directly affiliated to Xiamen City Health and Family Planning Commission, so that these hospitals can get the passport to the international medical market for competition and render citizens customized, standard medical services up to international standards. The JCI training and accreditation work will go on by two phases. In the first phase, the China Resources-JCI Hospital Management Institute will give the 6-month-long practical training program in the title of “Healthcare Quality and Security Mindset and Practice Based on JCI Philosophy”, in an effort to improve the regional capacity in healthcare quality and security management. When the conditions get mature, the regional hospital clusters will start their JCI accreditation, which is the second phase of the work.
This collaboration is the first government-entrusted training program since the institute has been established and also the largest systemic training project JCI has offered across the world. In this round of JCI training and accreditation are twelve hospitals. They are Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University, Xiamen Hospital of T.C.M., No.2 Hospital Xiamen, the Third Hospital of Xiamen, the Xiamen City Fifth Hospital, Xiamen Haicang Hospital, Xiamen Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital, Xiamen Xianyue Hospital, Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital, Xiamen Eye Center, Xiamen Stomatological Hospital, and Xiamen Children’s Hospital.
